Smooth and efficient.
It's a very well-balanced razor with an excellent cutting performance. It has a natural shaving angle, making it easy to shave on autopilot. There's just a slight blade feel—enough to help you find the angle—but it's never uncomfortable.
I shaved a 48-hour beard with a Kai blade effortlessly. I have dense, coarse facial hair, and the razor handled it with ease. Going ATG is completely comfortable and trouble-free.

I have to say—I know just about all of the manufacturers in this industry, and Sean - you are, hands down, the most innovative, daring, forward-thinking, and risk-taking maker in the business.
While I respect all other manufacturers I don’t think they hold a candle to your engineering creativity and willingness to push boundaries.

More importantly, it shaves really well. Well balanced, thin design of cap works perfectly for me.
I did choose the +base plate and am very happy with choice. Enough blade feel and close shave without any negatives.

I’m a wet shaving enthusiast who has acquired a lot of hardware and software over the years… hands down Carbon razors are my favorite and I love all the razors in my den. I own 4 CX’s , all different materials with 1 baseplate ( plus plate) and they all feel and shave fantastic, not blade picky at all… the cruise control of shaves. If you’re looking to treat yourself you’ve come to the right place!!

The Carbon CX-GII is an absolutely stunning razor. I missed out on the original graphite edition so I was very excited when this version was released. The ++ plate is very efficient and extremely smooth. This is my #1 razor and I love it so much I also have it in polished titanium. Also Sean is very responsive and has some of the best customer service in the industry!

I just got the Cx-GI safety razor last week, and it’s definitely the best I’ve ever tried! The way it’s made and how it looks is just amazing, which makes it perfect for me. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone who wants a top-notch safety razor experience.

I have this same razor with the same base plates in Stainless Steel and Titanium as well. The copper razor is the standout in terms of looks - it is highly polished and looks just great. It is similar in function to the stainless steel one in terms of heft and feel. The mild plate is still very efficient - it gives a very smooth and close shave without any nicks or cuts or razorburn. I am able to complete an entire shave with just a pass and a half - the half pass being along the chin and neck and around my lips.
I know that in time a patina will develop on the copper - will wait and see how it ends up looking once that happens and whether to remove the patina and polish it up on a periodic basis or live with it. So far with three shaves, the razor is showing no signs of patina and it looks as shiny as it did when I first received it. I am very happy with this purchase - if you are looking to add a copper razor to your collection, this is the one to get.

I ordered the Cx316 razor with the plus plate which is beautiful but for me (YMMV) was a tad too aggressive and maybe blade forward or positive, so I decided to buy this .71 mild - plate and it did not disappoint! For me, this is the best combination of efficiency and smoothness. No issues and a great shave all around. Love the look and feel of this razor. The customer service from Sean was responsive and shipping was super fast and neatly packaged. If you get a chance to get the Damascus shave soap it’s next level as well. Overall a 5 star company to deal with. Highly recommend adding a Carbon razor to your shave den.

First shave was completely underwhelming, second shave was a bit aggressive. Then after a couple of crappy shaves with my favorite razor I changed blades. I had been using the Tatra blades that so many people from TRC were touting. Come to find out those blades a crap and very inconsistent. I dropped in a bic blade and the shave was amazing, tried it with a euromax blade and it was incredible. I’m glad I didn’t review this razor after the first few shaves. This isn’t my favorite razor but it is very nice and in my top ten. I prefer a two pass shave but this razor requires a third pass although it is a great three pass shave. I haven’t tried it either a feather blade or a Kai blade but all the blades I’ve used have been good except the Tatra blade.

I have the same razor with the same base plate in polished stainless steel. This review is the one for the titanium version of that razor. Surprisingly the stainless steel version turned out to be easier to use - the weight of the razor allowed me to have a close shave without having to exert any pressure. In the case of the titanium version, I ended up with a small nick just under my nose because I was pressing down as the razor is very light. I was using Persona blades and the next two times, I was able to get a close shave without any nicks or cuts. The base plate, while being mild, is also very efficient - I usually end my shaving with just a pass and a half - the half pass being along the usual problem areas around the chin, lip and nose. The plate has very large openings to allow the lather and hair to slip through without clogging up the razor. When using the titanium version. one has to be a bit careful of not pressing down too hard - just let the razor glide across your face and you will be rewarded with a close shave. I would compare the mild plate to a Henson titanium medium or to a Timeless titanium 0.95 - I have both of those and all three razors are part of my rotation - I usually use one razor for the entire week before switching to another one for the next week and so on. I am very happy with this purchase - the stainless steel version is like being on autopilot, the titanium version needs a lighter touch - both are excellent with the mild plate.
