Custom Cx — Titanium Damascus / Damtanium
Carbon Cx Damtanium is machined from Titanium Damascus forged from alternating layers of Grade 2 and Grade 5 titanium. After machining and hand finishing, heat transforms the surface into the blues, purples, golds and other colors that reveal the forged structure beneath.
Every component develops its own pattern and color.
The photographs shown here are examples of Damtanium razors we have completed previously. Before purchasing, we'll provide photographs of the actual finished razor and confirm your preferred available Cx configuration.
These razors are completed individually and in very small numbers.

Titanium, Forged Into Pattern
Damtanium is a form of Titanium Damascus made from alternating layers of Grade 2 and Grade 5 titanium.
Those layers are forged together under carefully controlled heat and pressure to create a single patterned billet.
The pattern extends through the material.
As we CNC machine each Cx component, different portions of that layered structure are exposed.
That makes the visual outcome inherently unpredictable.
You don't completely know what the finished component will look like until you begin cutting into the material.
Color Created by Titanium
The colors in Damtanium are not paint, dye or pigment.
During flame anodizing, heat changes the thickness of the transparent titanium oxide layer at the surface.
Light interacting with that oxide layer produces the characteristic gold, purple, blue and other colors associated with anodized titanium.
Because the different forged titanium layers respond differently, anodizing increases the visual contrast between them.
The pattern is forged into the metal. The color reveals it.
Flame anodizing changes the thickness of the titanium oxide layer, revealing color and increasing contrast between the forged layers.
Lightweight by Nature
Despite its visual complexity, Damtanium retains one of titanium's defining characteristics: low weight.
Depending on the handle and configuration, the current Damtanium Cx weighs approximately 31–51 grams.
That gives it a dramatically different feel from Stainless Damascus or copper-rich Mokume.
It combines the visual presence of an exotic forged material with the light, responsive character of titanium.
Built Around the Cx
A Damtanium Cx retains the same precision head geometry used throughout the Cx platform.
The Titanium Damascus changes the weight, appearance and tactile character of the razor. Its low mass gives it a lighter, more responsive feel than Stainless Damascus or Mokume, while the selected Cx base plate determines the fundamental shaving characteristics.
Mild (–) | .71 mm
Our mildest option. Recommended for those who prefer less blade feel, shave frequently or have sensitive skin.
Original | .68 mm
The original Cx configuration, with more noticeable blade feel and considerable control through shaving angle.
Plus (+) | .88 mm
A versatile balance of efficiency and reduced blade feel. A strong choice for denser growth or shaving every few days.
Plus Plus (++) | 1.08 mm
Our most efficient option, intended for heavier growth, longer intervals between shaves or those who simply prefer greater efficiency.

How a Custom Damtanium Cx Is Offered
Damtanium Cx razors are completed individually rather than maintained as regular inventory.
Enter your email to express interest.
As a piece approaches completion, we'll contact interested customers, confirm the available configuration and preferred base plate, and send photographs of the actual finished razor.
Because both the forged pattern and anodized colors vary from piece to piece, seeing the completed razor is an important part of the process.
If it's the right piece, you can purchase it.
If not, simply pass or wait for another.

An Evolving Finish
The anodized colors on Damtanium are created by the titanium oxide layer at the surface.
They are not a conventional coating and will not necessarily remain visually identical forever.
Handling, wear and environment can gradually alter the surface appearance. The material may be allowed to age naturally or the anodized finish can be refreshed.
The geometry remains precise. The surface continues to tell the story of the material.
