At Carbon Shaving Co., we redefine luxury grooming through meticulously crafted safety razors. Our razors embody innovation, precision, and timeless design, catering to discerning gentlemen who appreciate excellence in their shaving experience. Here's a closer look at the key elements that set our safety razors apart.
Revolutionary Design: Where Form Meets Function
1. Handle Design for Perfect Balance and Ergonomics
Our handles are engineered for effortless balance. The intuitive pivot point lies at your fingertips, allowing for controlled, smooth strokes that make shaving a breeze. The hour glass design is meant to sit snugly in your hand, the design eliminates weight and provides an intuitive grip.
2. Web Base Plates with Superior Flow
Featuring "through-holes" for uninterrupted airflow, lather, and debris removal, our base plates eliminate the buildup common in traditional razors. This design ensures consistent cleanliness and performance. The concept of lightening holes is a vintage design that allows for the lightest yet strongest structure. It is commonly found in marine and aeronautical designs to minimize weight.
3. Thin Head Design for Precision
The thin shaving head enhances maneuverability, particularly in hard-to-reach areas like under the nose. Its reduced weight and intuitive edge placement offer a precise and comfortable shave.
4. Pinch Design
By pinching the double edge blade close to the leading working edge and by clamping the bottom and top of the blade we recreate a straight edge shave found in a traditional barber shop. This design stiffening and stabilizing the leading edge of the razor blade.
5. Machined and Finished in the USA (Minneapolis)
Each razor is machined in Minneapolis, each razor is polished and hand finished in our studio. Each exotic razor is custom finished 1 shaver at a time, we don't mass produce them, they are not caste in molds or mass produced. They are all made locally where we can monitor and control production.
Premium and Exotic Materials: Crafting Durability and Elegance
At Carbon Shaving Co., we believe that exceptional materials form the foundation of an extraordinary shaving experience. By sourcing the finest metals and alloys, we ensure that our luxury safety razors combine durability, performance, and unmatched aesthetics. Below, we explore the unique qualities of the materials we use, including Titanium, 316L Marine-Grade Stainless Steel, and the innovative 904L, Mokume-Gane, Damascus and Titanium Damascus. We talk more about the challenges of machining premium material here.
Titanium Razors: Lightweight Strength
Titanium is renowned for its combination of strength, lightness, and exceptional corrosion resistance. At Carbon Shaving Co., we exclusively source USA-made Titanium, ensuring the highest quality for our razors.
Advanced Applications:
Titanium is a material favored in demanding fields like aeronautics, medical equipment, and luxury watchmaking. Its durability and resistance to dents and corrosion make it ideal for wet shaving tools.
Lightweight Design:
Despite its strength, titanium’s low weight enhances maneuverability, offering a refined and comfortable shaving experience.
Durability and Longevity:
Resistant to rust and tarnish, titanium ensures your razor retains its beauty and performance over time.
Eco-Conscious Crafting:
By utilizing this sustainable and durable material, our razors provide a lasting alternative to disposable shaving tools, reducing waste.
Every titanium razor we craft is a testament to innovation and luxury, designed to elevate your grooming routine.
316L Marine-Grade Stainless Steel Razors: Resilient and Timeless
Our machined 316L Marine-Grade Stainless Steel razors deliver unmatched durability and corrosion resistance, setting them apart from competitors. Not all stainless steel is the same, we use 316L NOT the cheaper and easier to machine 303 or 304 stainless.
Premium Sourcing:
We use only the finest stainless steel from the USA, UK, and Germany to ensure impeccable quality.
Corrosion Resistance:
As a marine-grade alloy, 316L withstands exposure to water and moisture, making it perfect for the wet shaving environment. Feel free to not clean or remove your blade from our razors! This grade of stainless takes a lot of abuse before it will rust!
Superior to Lower Grades:
Unlike 303 or 304 stainless steel, 316L offers enhanced resistance to wear and rust, ensuring a razor that performs beautifully for years.
Elegance and Precision:
With its sleek appearance and durability, 316L is the choice of high-end watchmakers, underscoring its luxury appeal. Rolex chose this grade of stainless until it changed to 904L.
Our stainless steel razors are built to last, offering timeless functionality with a polished finish that enhances every shave.
904L Stainless Steel Razors: Luxury Redefined
For those seeking an even higher standard, the best, our 904L stainless steel razors deliver unparalleled performance and exclusivity. Rolex calls its 904L "Oyster Steel", I geek out about the fascinating history of this material here. Only Carbon Shaving Co. uses this material in its luxury men's razors.
Unmatched Corrosion Resistance:
This high-alloy steel offers exceptional protection against rust and pitting, even in humid or wet conditions.
Elite Material:
Used in some of the world’s most prestigious Swiss watches, 904L stainless steel elevates our razors to the realm of true luxury. No other razor manufacturer has ever used this material. Carbon Shaving Co. is the first and only maker to use 904L in its safety razor shavers.
Durable and Elegant:
With greater strength and toughness than 316L, 904L ensures long-lasting reliability with a sophisticated finish.
Our 904L razors provide a perfect blend of innovation, luxury, and functionality, making them a prized addition to any shaving collection.

Misc. At CarbonShavingCo notes: Wet shaving is a bit of an art form. It is personal to your skin type, which dictates the type of soap and shaving brush you will be using. Opting between a straight razor or safety razor (disposable razors won't be the best of experiences at all). The use of some hot water to open up your pores and soften the facial hair is a good thing. When it comes to skin conditions, such as sensitive skin, razor bumps, and at times hair growth in multiple directions extra care and consideration must be taken and avoid razor burn caused by dry shaving, lack of lubrication, wrong direction, ingrown hairs, etc. At CarbonShavingCo, the construction of our razors aims to be bacteria-free as much as possible to help avoid allergic reactions by being polished with easy to clean surface, the design maximizes the flow of debris, the pinch design reduces gaps for the collection of debris and germs, we aim to help people with sensitive skin and prevent razor burn and ingrown hairs. We believe that wet shaving is the best approach with a good shaving soap as opposed to using men's disposable razors. This also applies to safety razors for women. Keeping your gear clean is so important if you are sensitive. Join the community of wet shavers today to learn more so you can enjoy your personal spa experience.
